Summer Plans! What are yours?

To whom it may concern:

Thus it begins, a Summer Road-Trip of limited sorts.

I am going to be driving from Phoenix to D.C. starting this
Tuesday morning (6.08).

I will be in Dallas on Tuesday night and will leave Thursday (6.10).

I will be arriving in D.C. on Friday or Saturday at the latest (6.11/12).

I will be in D.C. taking an art class and visiting old haunts (Prospect Hill is top o' the list; and I want Sponge-Bob back.  You know who you are).

I will be attending the wedding of one MP[3] Jones and Sam.  I will be in Dallas for a week for that, and then back to D.C.

I will be in D.C. until around July 15th or so.  This would be a good time to get everyone together as I will be free and not taking classes.  Maybe some of your norther NY & PA folk can come down for something?

On my way back to Phoenix I was thinking of hitting up Raleigh, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and anything else in the way if you invite me.

Let me know if you are going to be around in these places and would like to grab lunch or hang out for a more extended time.  I have a pretty loose schedule as much as things go.

Leave a comment on here with your summer plans so that we can figure something out!

Well, I'm returning to the Lone Star State.  I'm going to embark on a 16-18 hour car ride tomorrow morning at 4:00am.  I am going to try to take some of this great weather with me.  Mary Tetzlaf and Joe Prever are coming with me.

If you haven't already heard, I will be playing the St. Patrick's Day TGIT on March 18th, and I hope that you can make it out.

I may be rough shod, but here I go

So, I'm going to be starting off for Phoenix on Thursday. It's going to be an interesting trip, featuring places such as Phoenix, Dallas, maybe Georgia. This is it, I guess, so long D.C.

Weird, Nirvana's All Apologies just started playing, does Pandora know your soul too!?

Anyway. Say a prayer that I make it okay in Benjy Compson (my car). I might call you late at night (James Mackenzie) to help me stay awake. You may receive a gratuitous text message when I head due south out of Roanoke VA (Sercer), pass through the Cumberland Gap (Rivs), cross the James River [blues] (Brandon Misko), cross over the Mississippi from Memphis (Paul Spring), pass Mayhill New Mexico (whatever Quest we were on that year...Spring Break Oh Eight!!), or when I'm baking biscuits on my dashboard in Arizona (Anne). In any case, it will be a road trip...all alone. A few cigs, an energy drink, and some gas.

p.s. - I have the madlib from Spring Break, and it's pretty hilarious. Chris, I'll get that up and out as soon as I get settled in Phoenix.

Starting the Road Trip from CUA
It is good to start this way.
Our destination calls us to the snow blasted fields,
A purple house next a grainless silo, a frozen pond.
At the CUA, a blending of ancient
and modern
has been built up, to the grandeur
of universal ideas.
A dip in the font: my head, belly, and shoulders.
A kneeler bends, the
empty marble echoes its sound.
Tourists cyclopean,
Attending without being

Able gracefully to capture
The omnipresent, illusive mystery.

And yet they are here too.
Emmanuel, and do we know it?
Two in the afternoon at Kirk's house

Looking at Google for our destination.
We are called to the snow blasted fields,
Next to a grain silo and a warm house,

With a wood burning stove to keep
The snowmen - those with a mind
Of winter - at bay.
It is good to start this way.
